Georgia, Liberty County } To the Superior Court of said County
The petition of John McIntosh Jr., Anthony Bacon, W.C. Bacon, W.W. Jones and Robert Ward — shows that they are all members of the Second Presbyterian Church located at Riceboro, in the said County of Liberty, that the said Church has been established, and that petitioners desire corporate authority to enforce good order, receive donations, make purchases and effect such alienations of realty or personalty, not for the purposes of trade and profit but for promoting the general design of said institution and to look after the general interests of the said establishment. To sue and be sued and to have a corporate seal, and to make such bylaws as may be necessary for the government of said Institution. Whereupon your petitioners pray that the Court will grant to them and their successors authority as aforesaid and to do and perform such acts, and to have such authority as are generally incident to corporations, said charter to remain of force for twenty years, unless sooner revoked by law. And petitioners will ever pray etc.

Liberty Superior Court May Term 1884
Upon reading the above petition, and it appearing to the Court that the petitioners are members of the Second Presbyterian Church – a church which has been established at Riceboro in said County. And it appearing that said application should be greanted. It is considered and ordered by the court that John McIntosh Jr., Anthony Bacon, W.C. Bacon, W.W. Jones, and Robert Ward – and their legal successors be and they are hereby Incorporated under the corporate name of the “Second Presbyterian Church” at Riceboro in Liberty County, Georgia, for and during the space and term of twenty years unless sooner revoked by law, with authority to enforce good order, receive donations, make purchases, effect alienations of realty or personalty, not for purposes of trade or profit but for promoting the general design of such Institution; and to look after the general interest of such establishment, to sue and be sued, to have a corporate seal; to make such by laws as may be necessary for the government of said church. And generally to have such authority and to do and perform such acts as are incident to corporations.
It is further ordered that these proceedings be entered upon the Minutes of this Court. Granted in Open Court May 19th 1884.
