Enslaved Persons Named: London
On June 9, 1849, Richard F. Baker, Liberty County, gifted to his daughter, Matilda L.C. Calder, wife of Eugene M. Calder, McIntosh County, “one certain negroe boy named London about ten years of age,” via William E.W. Quarterman. Baker specified that if Matilda died without children, London was to revert to her brothers and sisters. Witnessed by C. Hines, J.I.C., and S.A. Fraser, J.I.C. [Date of recording not specified.]
