Enslaved People Named: An??d, Mary Ann
On March 21, 1851, in Bulloch County, Georgia, Isaac Barber sold to James Newman for $900 “a negro woman, named An??d [looks like Anaed] about 25 years old and her child Mary Ann, about four years.” Witnessed by Jessee Newman (signed by mark). Jessee Newman appeared before Alfred B. Smith, in Bryan County on October 11, 1851, to testify that he had seen Isaac Barber sign this deed. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on October 14, 1851.
