On April 18, 1850, Augustus Myddleton (alt: Middleton) of Chatham County, promised to pay Silas Fulton of Bryan County, $4000 in installments as the purchase price for the Tipperary tracct of land in Bryan County, 738 acres, bounded north by “lands supposed to belong to John J. Maxwell, east by lands of John J. Maxwell and William Remshart, South by Medway River and west by lands of William Remshart, plus the Bethesda tract in Chatham County, 125 acres, bounded north by Cedar Hammock, belonging to the Estate of Morel, south by “Buelah” belonging to C. ?Lamper?, east by marsh, and west by lands of the estate of Richard F. Williams.

Included in the sale were “the following negro slaves with the future increase of the females, slaves, Edward, Billy, Harriet, Eliza, Tyra [alt: Tira], Eve, Aleck [alt: Alleck, Allick], Isaac, Thomas, Hardy, Bob, Henry, Margaret, Amarintha, Nanny, Ben, Joe and Moses.

Another version of this document, dated the same day, named the enslaved people differently: Edward, Billy, Harriet, Eliza, Tyra, Eve, Alleck, Isaac and Thomas.
