Georgia, Liberty County } Personally appeared before me John Mell Esquire one of the Justices of the said County Mrs. Ann Oswald who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that a certain Negro wench by the name of Lilly about twenty four years of age having two children is the property of this deponent that the deponant has been in possession of her from her birth and has never in any manner conveyed bargained or sold her to any person whatever. Sworn before me this 24th day of January 1805. Recorded 24th Jany 1805 W. Robarts C.S.C.L.C.
Georgia, Liberty County } Before me John Mell a Magistrate for this County personally came and appeared Daniel Stewart of said County who being duly sworn saith that a certain Negro Wench now in dispute between Mrs. Ann Oswald and Lewis McTair he had at or about the year 1794, 95, or 96 in the plantation with him and that at that time he had every reason to believe [she] was the property of the Est. Of McTier, she never having been included in the division of the Est. Of Oswald. Sworn before me this 24th day of Jany 1805. Recorded 25th Jany 1805. Wm. Robarts C.S.C.L.C.
Georgia, Liberty County } Before me John Mell a Magistrate for this County personally came and appeared James Carter who being duly sworn saith that a wench Phillis the mother of the wench Lilly now in dispute between Mrs. Ann Oswald & Lewis McTier was the property of his mother & that she by a division of the Estate fell to the mother of said McTier. Georgia, Liberty County } Before me John Mell a Magistrate for this County personally came and appeared James Wilkinson who being duly sworn maketh oath and saith the wench Lilly now in dispute between Mrs. Ann Oswald & Lewis McTier has always been considered by him as the property of the Est.
