Enslaved Persons Named: Pender

On January 7, 1828, Joseph Austin, Liberty County and “guardian of the property of Abiel Winn, a minor, son of Peter F. Winn, of said county” was paid $350 by William Q. Baker, “executor of the last will and testament of William Osgood, deceased, and paid for the use of the said Abiel Winn,” to sell “a certain young negro woman slave, named Pender [alt: Penda], about seventeen years old” to Bartholomew A. Busby in trust for “the only use & benefit of the said Abiel Winn, his heirs and assigns forever.”  Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on January 24, 1828.
