On April 19, 1847, John M. Edwards, Bryan County, sold to Candace Mattox, Bryan County, for $375 “a certain negro girl named Rose aged about twelve years.” Witnessed by George M. Edwards, Edward Kennedy. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 10, 1849.
