Enslaved People Named: Delia
On March 15, 1851, Samuel Harn, William Harn, John Harn, William Clark, Thomas Harn, John W. Harrison, and Sarah Harn, widow of the late John Harn of Bryan County (signed by mark) agreed among themselves in Bryan County as heirs of the late John Harn that his estate would be distributed without an administrator on the following terms: After all debts were paid, the balance of the estate to be equally divided among each of them, with the following provision: “the negro woman Delia to be the property and remain in the possession of the above named Sarah Harn, during her natural life, and at her death to become the property of William Harn,” who was to retain possession of her outside of his portion of the balance of the estate. Witnessed by Thomas Harn. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on April 1, 1851.
