On February 23, 1847, Jeremiah Elder, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note to Obadiah Moye for $570 “the following named negro slaves (to wit) Lany aged about thirty three years, and her three children Tenah about six years old, Thomas about four years old, and Henry about two years old.” Witnessed by A.G. Smith. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on February 25, 1847.
