On June 18, 1842, Obadiah Moye, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note to Joshua Smith, administrator de bo nis non of the Estate of Thomas Williams for $300 “the following negro slaves to wit, Becka [alt: Becca] and Louisa, Becka about twenty seven years of age and Louisa about fourteen years of age.” Witnessed by Isabel Smith. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on June 20, 1842.
