On April 17, 1843, Richard Harvey, Bryan County, sold to Cyrus Bird, Bryan County, for $750 “the following property, one negro boy by the name of Sam, about sixteen years old, also fifty head of cattle marked with an upper square in each ear, branded AH.” Witnessed by Susan Barber, Isaac Barber, J.P. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 2, 1843.
