On May 20, 1842, John P. Hines, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $405.96 to Sophia A. Linder, guardian of the minor children of William J. Harrison, “the following named eight negroe slaves to wit, Flora aged about thirty five years, Frank, aged about eighteen years, Prince aged about fifteen years, Antoinette aged about 12 years, Jack aged about nine years, Flanders aged about six years, Daphne aged about four years and Samson aged about one year.”
This mortgage was marked as satisfied as of February 15, 1843. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on July 6, 1842.
