On October 26, 1784, John Elliott in Liberty County posted bond to become administrator of Mary Shave’s estate. James Maxwell acted as his security. Elliott was instructed to perform an inventory of her estate before January 26, 1785. The bond was witnessed by Rebecca Baker.
On October 26, 1784, Thomas Sumner, James Wilson, William Way and Jno. [John] Quarterman were appointed to perform the appraisal. On December 9, 1784, Thomas Sumner, James Wilson and John Quarterman accepted the task and were sworn before James Maxwell, a Liberty County Justice of the Peace.
