On March 16, 1838, Elizabeth Shineman gifted to her nephew Horace Constantine Dasher “a negro girl about fourteen years of age, named Nelly, together with her bodily issue or increase.” Witnessed by Andrew Bird. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 4, 1838.
