Enslaved People Named: Beck, Lucaser

On December 3, 1839, Thomas Harn, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $408.85 to Sarah Sandiford, Bryan County, “one negro woman named Beck, supposed to be aged twenty four years, also one negro girl supposed to be ten years old named Lucaser [alt: Lucasa].” Witnessed by E. Daniel, Newman Bradley. On January 15, 1840, Newman Bradley probated Harn’s and Daniel’s signatures in Liberty County. On the same day in Liberty County, Sarah Sandiford signed over her interest in the above mortgage deed and promissory note to Enoch Daniel. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on January 16, 1840.
