On January 16, 1832, Clem Powers, Effingham County, sold to Henry W. Crum, Bryan County, for $450 “a certain negro man slave called Simon about twenty four years of age.” Witnessed by Jas [or Jos] S. Crum, A.N. Sanford. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on October 15, 1832.
