Enslaved People Named: Cyrus

On March 18, 1828, George M. Waters sold to Margaret Mann, wife of Luke Mann, for $105 “a certain boy called Cyrus, son of a woman in my possession called Balinda.” Waters specified that “in the event of the death of the said Margaret, her present child and future issue, then and in that case the above named negro Cyrus to go to the children of his (Luke Mann) first wife, viz Ferdinand C. Mann, John A. Mann, and Harriet A. Mann.”
