On May 1, 1828, Thomas Blacksell Baker, planter of Bryan County, sold to George M. Waters, Bryan County, for $3000 “the following Negroes viz. John, Silvia, Old Jinny, Young Jinny, Stephen, Nancy, Edward, Punch, To?erhill, Chloe, Dublin, Jack, & William.” Waters was acting in his capacity as trustee for Barbara Ann Baker, wife of Thomas Blacksell Baker), William Lee Baker, and Stephen Jackson Baker, and also any future children of Barbara Ann by Thomas Blacksell Baker. Witnessed by John J. Maxwell. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 2, 1828.
