In a 1799-1800 estate account for the estate of Jane Gray of Bryan County, presented by Dr. William Maxwell, reference was made to the appraised value of “negroes Frank & Harry” as being $700.00, as well as $150 for the “amt. of hire of negroes for one year in his possession,” dated June 20, 1799. Individuals named as receiving money and property from the estate: Thomas Young, Ann Forster, Wm. Michols’s children, Wm. Maxwell, Wm. Maxwell, Sr. Administrator was Thomas Young. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 26, 1800.
