Enslaved People Named: Sucke

On April 7, 1821, Levina Swilley, Liberty County, gifted to her daughter, Sarah Ann Swilley, “one negro girl by the name of Sucke, about eighteen years old.” She noted that she had chosen Samuel Swilley and Robert Henry as her daughter’s guardians. Witnessed by Reason F. Swilley, Angus Martin. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 3, 1821.
