On February 21, 1822, Charles Law, Liberty County, sold to John Broughton for $800 “two negro women, named Betty & Harriet.” Witnessed by Mercy Brown, Ann Baker, James W. Baker. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 18, 1822.
