On March 28, 1812, James Smith, Liberty County, gifted to his daughter Elizabeth Dunwody “the following negro slaves; named Sam, Tenant, Tony, Strap, Bram, Renty, Lucy, Maria, Milly, Sarah, Hagar, Clarinda, Statira [alt: Satira], Jean, Hannah, Melia, Murriah, Kate, Tony, Richard and Bram. Witnessed by William Ward. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on January 29, 1818.
