On April 2, 1816, Arahel [or Asahel] Howe, Savannah, sold to Jonathan Gaulden for $500 “a negro fellow named Charles, about twenty [years] of age.” Witnessed by William Alford, John Shick. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on December 7, 1816.
