On May 8, 1815, John A. Cuthbert used as collateral on a promissory note of $3000 to Charles W. Rogers, physician, the following negro slaves; March, Sukey, Liberty, Diana, Nancy & her child John, Minty and her child Betty, Cinder [alt: Cinda], Johnny & Robin the children of aforesaid Sukey, Punch, Sally & her child, Pompey, Jenny, Tom, Sandy & Sue, with the future issue of the females.” Witnessed by Alexander McIver, John B. Maxwell. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 20, 1815. 

[NOTE: Written on this deed was “see proof fol. 376.” On page 376 was the standard statement by the witness, Alexander McIver in this case, probating that he saw the deed signed.]
