On March 9, 1814, James Dunwody, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1400 to physician Charles W. Rogers “the following negro slaves Billy, Monday, Elsey, & two children John & Tom.” Witnessed by Jas. S. Bradwell, Alexander McIver. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 17, 1814. 

Written below this deed was “I acknowledge the above mortgage to be fully satisfied. Chas. W. Rogers.”
