On February 2, 1805, Isaac Cuthbert, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2625 to John Caig and Robert Mitchel “all these certain Negro slaves called Joe, James, Suckey [alt: Sukey], Molly, Sapho, Molbrook [alt: Malbrook], Cato /eight in number/.” Witnessed by Christian Hendrickson, ? Colleen ? Mitchel. Original deed said to be recorded in the Chatham County Clerk’s office in Book CC page 701 on October 6, 1810. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on October 29, 1810.
