Enslaved People Named: Marlborough

On August 10, 1801, William Elliott Way, Liberty County, gifted to his brother-in-law Richard Quarterman, same place, “a Negroe Boy named Marlborough.” If Richard Quarterman were to die before he turned 21 or was married, then Marlborough was to revert to “my son Quarterman.” Witnessed by Elias Cassels, Sampson E. Ball. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 16, 1809.
