On [date obscured], Joseph Jones, planter of Liberty County, gifted to Susannah H. Jones, widow and relict of his deceased brother John Jones and to the children of his brother, Elizabeth Jones, John Jones, Susan and Mary Jones and Charles Colcock Jones “all those the following twenty six negroe slaves named, Sandy, Portious, Rosetta, PHillis, Augustus, Prince, Paul, Willoughby, Annett, Jupiter, blind Sylvia, Terresa, Rose, Mag, Kate, Siner, Peggy, Hamlet, Jupiter, Hannah, little Jupiter, Sary, Molly, Brutus, Carey and Celia.” [NOTE: All of these individuals had been put up for public auction based on suits against the John Jones estate, and Joseph Jones had purchased them.] 

Likely recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 17, 1808 [but the actual date was obscured at the bottom of the page.] 

On May 8, 1809, a note was added to Deed Book G referring to Deed Book F, page 211, stating that Susannah H. Jones had that day asked to have her proportion of the “within deeded Negroes designated to her by division, to wit, the ones [cut off] the part, accordingly the same were apportioned to her by Joseph Jones with the assistance of Andrew Maybank after having due respect [for] the value of each individual negroe the following ones were apportioned to her (to wit) Paul, Willoughby, Annett, Siner, Rosetta and Kate…” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 9, 1809.
