On February 27, 1809, at Fair Law, Charles William Rogers sold to John Elliott for $11150 “the following negroes viz Carpenter Bob, Little Bob, Trim, Jack, Will, Tom, Joe, March, April, June, July, August, O. Sam, Y. Sam, Peggy, Phebe [alt: Phoebe], Daphney, Prisillah [alt: Priscillah], Mariah, Jacob, Isaac, Luke, Jack, Grace, Rachel & Robin.” 

In the deed record above this one, Charles W. Rogers had sold Fair Lawn, Rural Felicity and Butler’s Tract in Liberty County to John Elliott for $4500. They were described as being in the neighborhood of Riceborough and containing in the three tracts about 1123 acres, bounded south and east by land of Dr. LeConte & Rice Hope [Plantation], lately the property of James Smith; east by land of the estate of Capt. John Jones; nother & west by land of Thomas Mell, James Smith and Dr. LeConte. 

Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 1, 1809.
