On December 29, 1806, Francis H. Godfrey, Bulloch County, used “a certain Negro Girl named Rose” as collateral on a loan to him of $300 from William Durrence, Liberty County. Witnessed by Jesse Durrence, J. [or I.] A. Tippins. Tippins probated the transaction on November 17, 1807. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on November 18, 1807.
