On February 22, 1806, Joseph, Benjamin and Samuel S. Law, administrators of the estate of Joseph Law, Senior, turned over to Charles Law 1/7th part of the Joseph Law estate, as one of the heirs, on the condition that he be responsible for up to 1/7th part of the estate’s debts. This 1/7th part included “the following Negro Slaves, to wit, Jim, Maria, Betty, Tenah, Cassander, Harriett and Prince,” as well as 1/7th part of a tract of land known as Liberty Point, bounded on one side by the Newport River marsh, west by land of Thomas Young, and on another side by land of Thomas E. Law. Witnesssed by Edward W. North, William Dunham. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 3, 1807.
