Enslaved People Named: Quash

On August 5, 1806, Liberty County Sheriff Joseph Jones sold to William Robarts for $185 “a fellow named Quash.” Jones had seized Quash from Charles Dicks after a writ of fieri facias was obtained against him based in a suit in Liberty County Superior Court by James Johnston, and he sold him at public auction in Riceborough to Robarts as the highest bidder. Witnessed by Morgan Mara. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on August 7, 1806.
