On March 5, 1792, James Cashen and Alexander McIver used as collateral on a promissory note of 120 pounds sterling to William Baker and Peter Winn “one Negro fellow named Jammy [alt: Jemmy?].” Stephen Files, attorney, signed for James Cashen Witnessed by Joel Walker, Andrew Walthour. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 30, 1792.
