On February 26, 1790, WIlliam West, of Liberty County, gifted to his daughter Mary Sharp West “a certain Negroe Girl named Phillis about five years old with her increase from this day forward.” Witnessed by John Jones, Leonard Jurdine. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 8, 1792.
