Enslaved Persons Named: Chloe

On April 10, 1789, Thomas Stone, Chatham County, gifted to his “beloved daughter Susannah Stone,” “one negroe female slave named Chloe together with her future issue and increase, also, one gold pocket peice [alt: piece] which was her late deceased mother’s Mrs. Francis Stone, commonly called a milled double loon.” He noted that he had already delivered Chloe to his daughter. Witnessed by Thomas Day, James Jordan of Chatham County. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 9, 1791.
