On August 10, 1774, in St. John’s Parish, Josiah Powell gifted to Elizabeth Darling “one Negroe Girl named Charitty [alt: Charity]”. Witnessed by Rebeccah Powell, Mary Lynn. Rebeccah Powell swore on August 31, 1774 that she witnessed Josiah Powell sign the deed. Recorded on October 19, 1778.
