Enslaved Persons Named: Winter
On June 18, 1829, Amarintha E. Phelps, Liberty County, sold to Jordan Ryalls [alt: Rials, Ryals], McIntosh County, for $250 “my negro boy Winter.” Witnessed by G.W. Dunham. Oliver Stevens, who had become Amarintha Phelps’ trustee upon her marriage to James C. Phelps, noted that he had no objection to the sale. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on September 28, 1829.
