On February 25, 1828, Joseph Way, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $277.40 to Uriah Wilcox, same place, “two male slaves named Peter & July.” Witnessed by Edward Way. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 25, 1828.
