On February 25, 1828, Matthew Bennet, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $422.63 to Uriah Wilcox, same place, “a female slave named Betsey [alt: Betsy] & her three children, named March, Sandy & Rachel.” Witnessed by Samuel Stevens, Rodney Pease. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 28, 1828.
