On April 6, 1827, William Robarts, of Riceboro in Liberty County, used as colla-teral on a promissory note of $1719 to Andrew Low & Robert Isaac, surviving partners in the Savannah firm Andrew Low & Co “the eight following named negroes, viz. March, Big Jack, Peter, Neger [or Niger], Charlotte, Lucy, Maria and Mary.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 4, 1827. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied in full previous to this date, Andrew Low surviving partner of A. Low & Co. By Low, Taylor & Co. Savannah 28 March 1819. Entered this 13 April 1829 by E. Baker Clk.”]
