On May 12, 1827, Robert P. Burton, Liberty County, used as collateral on various promissory notes to Andrew Low & Company, A & C Wood, John B. Gandry and C.W. Rockwell & Company “the following negro slaves, eight in number, viz, Charles, Henry, Hannah, Jack, London, Hester, Rose & Allen.” Witnessed by Thomas G. Miller, James Taylor. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 14, 1827.
