On December 8, 1827, Joseph Jones, planter Liberty County, gifted to his son Joseph Maybank Jones “all and singular the following negro slaves, viz. Maria, Farmer, Damon, Fortune, Diana, Crawford, Marcia (or Maria), Elsey, Sam, Madison, Betsy and Old Jenny.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on January 10, 1828.
