On February 1, 1826, W.E.W. Quarterman, Liberty County, sold to Wm. [William] Robarts, same place, for $400 “a negro woman Mahalah.” Witnessed by John F. Williams, Geo [George] W. Dunham. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 14, 1827.
