Enslaved Persons Named: Jim
On January 31, 1824, James Holmes, planter of Liberty County, sold for $500 to Mrs. Ann E. Mara and her two children, James Carter Mara and Sarah A. Mara, also of Liberty County, “a certain negro fellow, named Jim, about 21 years old.” Witnessed by Joseph Law, Senior. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 8, 1824.
