On March 13, 1823, W.H. Cassels sold to William Robarts for $475 “a negro man Ben…” Witnessed by John F. Williams, Robert P. Burton. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 17, 1823. 

An appended deed indicated that Andrew F. Fraser had sold Ben to William H. Cassels for $400 on March 5, 1823. Witnessed by Wiley Daniels, Littleberry Daniels. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 17, 1823.
