On January 19, 1837, James S. Bradwell, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $500 to Jonathan Gaulding, Liberty County, “three certain negro Slaves viz Jane & her two children Alexander and Mary…” Witnessed by W.B. Gaulden and E. Gaulden. Probated by Wm. [William] B. Gaulden on March 13, 1837. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 15, 1837. [NOTE: Marked as satisfied in full as of March 4, 1839. Satisfaction recorded on March 4, 1839.]
