On February 19, 1835, William Hughes, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1000 to George W. Anderson & Son “the following negro slaves to wit, Prince, Simon, Binah & Peggy…” Witnessed by R.R. Cuyler, Notary Public. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 22, 1835.
