On January 13, 1834, George W. Walthour, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note to John W. Anderson and George W. Anderson, partners doing business under the name of George Anderson and Son, “the following negro slaves, to wit, Jupiter, Minty, Little Jupiter, Israel, Antony, Dick (James) Peter, Flora, Letty, Big Abram, Jemmy, Jim, Judy, Sam, Sally, Nancy, Beck,” as well as a 600-acre tract of land bounded on the north by George W. Walthour, East by George W. Walthour, South by George W. Walthour and W.N. Way, and West by C. West and Jos. Way…” Witnessed by Thos. [Thomas] Quarterman and T.W. Quarterman. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 3, 1834.[NOTE: Written on the deed was “Satisfied George Anderson & Son Savannah 30th May 1835 Recorded June 1835 Thos. J.
