On April 16, 1828, John J. Maxwell sold to Lewis Hines, trustee of Mrs. Mary Jane Bacon, “a negro woman named Juba” for Bacon’s use. Witnessed by Benj. [Benjamin] S. Lamb, Notary Public. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on October 4, 1833.
