Mr. S.S. Moody,

This is to certify that the negroes Mary, Lorena, & Maria which I herewith send to you are not given but bound to my daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Moody. You must consider them my property & subject at any time to my order. I shall pay taxes for them & should I not call for them nor any portion of them before my death they must then be considered a part of my estate & subject to distribution among my heirs as the rest of my property may be.”
